How to lose weight - First Stage
- Counting/measuring amount of food I eat during my meals. Though it sounds childish but it proved out to be really effective. Generally when a person is over-weight he does not realize that he is over-eating. This can be due to various reasons like watching television while eating or gossiping while eating or by doing things which gives one pleasure. So while doing these pleasurable things a person does not realize over-eating. Though, for sure, this realization comes after over-eating : )
- The second important thing I did was to say NO to following things
- Walk where you can avoid luxuries. For example I stay on 4th Floor. And generally everyone is tired after work so I used to take an elevator rather than stairs. After 15/2/2010 for 95% of times I took stairs rather than elevator. After following this strictly I found I was covering at least 10 trips every day.
- Keep following the above mentioned things.
- Don’t be complacent
- Be concentrated on the final goal
- Take step by step approach.

IPL 2010 Puts Youtube On A Billboard & Train As Well (Pics)
It might be the first case of offline advertising for a google product/brand and it comes through via its unique partnership with IPL to live stream matches on Youtube.
Check the picture below which was taken at Dadar station in Mumbai:
Besides for the above we are told that an entire train is painted with the youtube live streaming ad. This seems to be massive offline marketing for IPL but the beneficiary is definitely youtube.
These are great signs for digital media and the views on youtube should rise phenomenally during the IPL matches. What’s your take on this?
Source of above information is WATBlog.com

My Angel's first glimpse
16th February 2009 just looks like yesterday and my marriage just seems as recent past. With those beautifual memories still fresh in my mind; i have been blessed with another blissful female in my life. I am so glad and I welcome this little cute angel in my life. She is so calm, serene and charming that I don't even have words to explain her completely. Will write about her soon. Till then adore her first glimpse.
How to reduce weight - Introduction
First i will like to remind myself to couple of facts :
- Weight reduction is must for me and i can't be relaxed about it.
- I can't stress myself for weight reduction otherwise I will loose the charm of losing weight. ( I love such catch22 scenarios)
- Weight reduction has to be step by step. With achievable steps first so that it gives me encouragement.
- It is important to understand which task is achievable. Following is definition for achievable tasks : Tasks that can be performed with least effort in given conditions and produces maximum benefits.
- Understanding environment dependencies. There are various factors which are not in our hands but are dependent on people around us. One can be strong willed and defy all local factors but one should consider cost involved in defying them. For example, I come from an Indian family so if i think of fasting and then reducing my weight then I might not succeed. There will be times when my mother/wife will convince me to eat that they have cooked with efforts. Hence effort involved to reduce weight by solving these complex scenarios will be tooo high. So never get involved in complex scenarios.
- My main goal is to get my BMI to 25. (Say X kilos) {don't want to share my current weight as of now}
- Current Weight is X + 18 Kilos.
- Time frame to achieve this goal is 1 year. I want to keep it realistic ( I know am lenient with myself) but i think it is fair keeping Point #2 (from facts) in mind :).
- My first month goal is to get to X + 15 kilos.

Export Google Sites
Google's Data Liberation team built a Java application for importing and exporting Google Sites. The application lets you export the pages from a site and all their attachments to a folder.
'The folder structure of an exported site is meant to mimic the Sites UI as closely as possible. Thus if exporting to a directory 'rootdirectory,' a top-level page normally located at webspace/pagename, would be in a file named index.html, located in rootdirectory/pagename. A subpage of that page, normally located at webspace/pagename/subpage, would be in a file named index.html in rootdirectory/pagename/subpage. Attachments are downloaded to the same directory as the index.html page to which they belong,' mentions the user guide.
You should only enter the domain name if you use Google Apps. 'Webspace' is the name of your site: http://sites.google.com/site/sitename/.

Unfortunately, you can't use this tool to import HTML files to an existing site. The importing option is only useful for the sites exported using the same application.

Let the NEWS flow to me
Every person is unique; in addition to that I assume every person (I know) has access to information. In my case: my interest areas vary depending upon my mood, behavior and my likings and vary almost every month if not every week. For example my current interest area has been Indian stock market (some specific stocks) and UID (Indian government Unique Identification project) .
To satiate my thirst on these topics/interests I spend on an average 14 hours (in a week) on internet.
This calls out for approximately 2 days of every month on internet searching for something which I know I will be interested in reading. This is called as NEWS searching.
Now think something like NEWS flowing to me on a specific topic rather than I go and dig out for NEWS. Google Alerts do exactly this. One just has to do something like:
- Setting up a search item which I am interested in reading.
- Ask Google alerts to send me alerts (in case I want mails) (every month/day/moment)
- Or Ask Google alerts to write it to RSS feeds and have a reader on top of it in one's mail box.
